Why is WAVScribe showing conflicts in files from a commercial library?

Nothing is wrong - not with the library and not with WAVScribe. A conflict flag means the file itself carries different values for the same field in two places (for example, one value in the iXML block and another in LIST/INFO). WAVScribe reads every location, so when they disagree it shows you rather than silently picking one. This is common: different tools write to different places, and a file that has passed through several tools often ships with disagreements baked in. You're seeing what was always in the file.

There's nothing you have to do - the flag is information, not a task. Leave it and the file stays untouched. If you'd rather clear it, pick the correct value and embed; every location then holds that one value. WAVScribe's own writes never create conflicts, because it writes every location in a single pass.

Windows warned me about the installer

Windows SmartScreen, or your antivirus, may show a warning when you run the WAVScribe installer, or the first time you embed metadata. This is expected and doesn't mean anything is wrong with your download: the installer isn't signed with a paid publisher certificate, so Windows doesn't recognize it yet. To continue, click More info on the SmartScreen dialog, then Run anyway, and install as normal.

Moving WAVScribe to a new computer

WAVScribe can be active on up to two computers at a time. To move it to a new machine, free up a slot on the old one first: open WAVScribe there and go to Help → License → Deactivate This Installation. That releases the slot, and you can then activate WAVScribe on the new computer.

If the old machine is gone or won't start and you can't deactivate it, email contact@wavscribe.com and I'll clear the old activation for you.

Still need help?

If your question isn't answered here, email contact@wavscribe.com. WAVScribe is built and run by one person, in Taiwan (UTC+8), so depending on where you are a reply can take up to a day - but every message gets a real answer.
